Flash Saving Plugin is an Internet Explorer plug-in. It places a button on your Internet Explorer bar which allows you to save .SWF files on the current web page with ease. The application automatically detects the presence of SWF files and lists them on a menu that pops up when you click the button. You can save a single file or save all the files on the web page at once. There is also a YouTube video downloader.
The installation of this button was a breeze. I was expecting trouble before installing this app, because Internet Explorer often fails to show plug-ins. But, surprisingly, the button installed quickly and without any problems. In my testing, I was able to download .SWF files from websites by using the menu that pops up when you click the button. I also tried YouTube downloader, which didn't work at all. The first time that I tried it, it gave me an HTTP header error. The second time, it asked me to input the URL, but I already had done this, and it was well typed in. That must have been a bug of some sort.
All in all, this app works if you need to download .SWF animations or movies, but the FLV downloader is too buggy to rely on.
- SWF downloading is made easy with this tool
- No problems during installation
- FLV downloader doesn't work
- It can be buggy
